The Disability Karate Federation

The biggest problem for disabled people is sometimes not their disability.  It is their loss of self-esteem.  Sometimes it is a lifetime of people telling them they are disabled – telling them what they cannot do. This lack of self-confidence means that disabled people are often very lonely because they do not even leave their homes.  Over 30% of disabled people are living below the poverty line

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for disabled people. Changing Lives, Changing Perceptions – one Karate class at a time

Through learning non-contact Karate the students learn mental, physical and emotional development. They gain a huge sense of accomplishment as well as growth in their self esteem, confidence and independence.
